Self-Limiting Beliefs - These make you feel stuck, hopeless, and helpless...

They have been occupying a room in the brain for years. Some of them are active and some dormant. They make you feel miserable as they crop up. They are not easy to deal with. They make you feel uncomfortable when you decide to confront them face-to-face. This is the reason why they are suppressed for ages. Here begins the root cause of the self-limiting beliefs. Thus, your self-improvement journey starts here!

The story had been long to convince you how self-limiting beliefs affect the quality of your life. Self-awareness is the highest form of self-consciousness of your soul. Once you are aware of the problem, you can move toward finding a solution. Identifying the issue that bothers you is the first step to start working on that problem. Your brain is the storage space for all past feelings and emotions. The brain can't differentiate between right and wrong on its own. Hence, consciousness is the "supporting system" to have in place to assist the brain in the process of differentiation.

Take a look at your closet drawers. Did you notice the unhandy clutter? The same is the situation of your brain. It is cluttered with incommodious thoughts, emotions, and feelings. You will have to come up with an action plan for decluttering. And that's your goal! It is said that "declutter the physical space to declutter your brain". It is true! Empty the drawers, look at the unnecessary stuff of all shapes and sizes that occupied the space for many years, select each item, and think over mindfully. Create categories such as "Trash - Giveaway or Discard", "Time Please - Think for a While" and "Keep - Belongs to You".

Now comes the mental unwieldy clutter. Decluttering the mental clutter is more cumbersome than you think. But both things require more or less the same process to go through.

1. Empty all your clingy thoughts, emotions, and feelings on the piece of paper.

2. Select each thought, emotion, and feeling one by one to tackle with.

3. Specify the categories as "Discard - Not my Future", "Time Please - Ponder Over", and " Keep - Belongs to Me". The brain is like a CPU as well as a keyboard. You will have to have its respective keys in place to retrieve and cancel the saved data in the CPU's database.

4. Contemplate your habits, and tendencies when it comes to accumulating unwanted memories.

5. Change the camera angle and use the lens to zoom in and zoom out for introspection. Here the camera is your brain, the angle is your perspective and the lens is your choice of focus.

Self-limiting beliefs hook you to the toxic past where you don't belong. You don't deserve this devastating place! Your mind is the strongest cosmic machine. Therefore, the stories that you tell yourself, the explanations that you give in your head, and the beliefs you form based on self-loathing; views; opinions; comments; feedback; judgments; criticism; life experiences, and upbringing have an ungovernable influence on your brain.

Self-limiting beliefs are too rigid. Only constant self-assessment, self-evaluation, and self-improvement are suitable steps for them. You need booster shots consistently to keep your motivation alive along the path of working on yourself.

What are those booster shots?

1. Eagerness to make the desired change.

2. Determination to stick to the ultimate goal.

3. Willpower to make it happen.

4. Persistency to keep going despite odds.

5. Resilience to bounce back post setbacks.

6. Patience to rip the results gradually.

7. Courage to face excruciating beliefs.

Working on self-limiting beliefs goes through several stages. I call these stages a "filtration system". These stages are as follows,

Stage 1: Introspection - This helps to deep dive into the undiscovered world within your brain.

Stage 2: Identification - This helps to understand the mess that is stored inside your head.

Stage 3: Contemplation - This helps to think over the areas for improvement.

Stage 4: Implementation - This helps to have a proper "action plan" for combating the flip side of your thinking process.

Stage 5: Execution - This helps to recheck your consistency with efforts to eliminate unrequired beliefs from your life.

Now you have understood how to declutter unmanageable self-limiting beliefs, the booster shots that are required to keep your spirits high along the way, and the filtration process through which your brain's thoughts, beliefs, emotions, and feelings shall pass through.

Before summing up, let me give you a powerful affirmation that may help you in the journey of untangling the tangled loop of self-limiting beliefs -

"I will choose to feel liberated by subsiding my self-limiting beliefs and my intuition will direct me along the way!"...
